New PLA Options!

Now available at New York Xperimental --

Electrically Conductive Graphite PLA!

Electrify prints for simple circuits and touch-sensitive devices!

How Conductive Is It?

  • Volume resistivity of molded resin (not 3D Printed): 15 ohm-cm

  • Volume resistivity of 3D printed parts along layers (x/y): 30 ohm-cm

  • Volume resistivity of 3D printed parts against layers (z): 115 ohm-cm

  • A 10cm length of 1.75mm filament has a resistance of approximately 2.5 kohm

Also available--new Stainless Steel PLA!

Stainless Steel PLA is a dense material that prints like plastic but polishes like metal.

It prints like any standard PLA but results in heavy cast metal looking prints that can be brushed, sanded, or polished post-print to achieve amazing results!

Rustable Magnetic Iron PLA!

Rustable Magnetic Iron Metal PLA Composite is actually ferromagnetic. It responds to magnets and behaves similarly to pure iron! Encapsulated in plastic, the iron maintains a stable matte, cast metal finish as printed, but can be rusted when desired.

  • Weighted feel with 1.5x the density of standard PLA

  • Rustable to create modern artifacts in a few easy steps.

  • Attracts magnets (neodymium type recommended for strongest attraction)

  • Induction at magnetic saturation about 0.15 Tesla

  • Relative (to air) Permeability - between 5 and 8 independent of frequency up to 1 MHz

  • Permeability - between 62E-7 and 100E-7 H/m independent of frequency up to 1 MHz

  • More thermally conductive than standard plastic.

High-Temperature Carbon Fiber PLA!

High Performance Carbon Fiber HTPLA-CF combines engineering-grade performance with the ease and environmental-friendliness of PLA printing.

  • More temperature resistance* for maintaining properties to higher temperatures.

  • Most ABS, PET, and Polyesters get soft at 80C +/- 10C

  • HTPLA-CF maintains properties up to 120C/250F or more (*when heat treated)

  • Higher strength and better strength-to-weight ratio for stronger parts with less material

  • Improved surface hardness for less wear in abrasive environments.

  • Less shrinkage and distortion for more accurate parts

  • Available in Black or Iridescent Ice (Translucent White)
